Communications Specialist
The Requirements
 

   In order to qualify for the position of Police Radio Dispatcher, all applicants SHALL:

1.   Be eighteen (18) years of age at time of application.

2.   Be a high school graduate or possess a G.E.D. certificate.

3.  Be of good moral character as confirmed by a thorough, comprehensive background investigation.

4.  All applicants shall be fingerprinted and subjected to a search of records and fingerprint files to disclose any criminal record.

5.   Not be on probation for a criminal offense above misdemeanor.

6.   Not have been convicted of a misdemeanor or its equivalent within the last 36 months (3 years).

7.   Not be under indictment for a felony or misdemeanor.

8.   Not have ever executed at anytime a confession to a felony offense, if that confession is admissible as evidence in any criminal proceeding in any state or federal court. 

9. Be a United States citizen.

11. Business necessity requires that past drug usage may be grounds for rejection for employment. This information will be verified and evaluated.
