Sworn Officer - Pay & Benefits
 

The current starting pay for an uncertified officer is $14.00 an hour (approximately $29,680.00 annually, including the 11 paid holidays). Certified officers start at $15.00 an hour (approximately $31,800.00 annually, including the 11 paid holidays). After an uncertified officer receives their certification as a Police Officer the Officer is increased to $15.45 an hour. After 18 months with the Department a Probationary Police Officer becomes a Police Officer and receives merit increases each year thereafter to include the Master Patrolman level upon completion of necessary criteria.

A full package of benefits is available upon employment including medical and life insurance, retirement, sick leave, vacation, and long-term disability.

The Department furnishes the Officer with his uniforms, leather gear and sidearm. Each year after the first year the Officer is afforded a substantial clothing allowance to maintain the uniform.

Opportunity for Specialized Duty Assignments to Traffic Div., Canine Div.,  Criminal Investigations,  Narcotics,  Special Response Team,  Community Services Officer,  School Resource Officer and Field Training Officer positions.

The Clovis Police Department also offers incentive pay bonuses dependant upon completion of criteria set forth for each individual incentive.
