Captain Patrick Whitney works under the supervision of Deputy Chief Mike Ingram and Chief of Police Steve Sanders. Captain Whitney has been with the Clovis Police Department since February 1996. Prior to the Clovis Police Department, Captain Whitney began his law enforcement career in August 1990 serving as a Military Policeman for 5 years with the United States Army Military Police Corps throughout the world in overseas and domestic assignments, in line-level and leadership military law enforcement positions.
Captain Whitney has served the Clovis Police Department in many positions starting as a Uniform Patrolman and later as a Field Training Officer in Patrol. In 2000, Captain Whitney was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Captain Whitney spent the next few years as a Sergeant supervising the Narcotics Unit of the Region 5 Drug Task Force in the Special Operations Unit and later as the Internal Affairs/Office of Professional Standards Sergeant. In 2003, Captain Whitney was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and transferred back to Patrol where he supervised all three uniform patrol shifts on rotation as a Patrol Division Lieutenant. In 2005 Captain Whitney was assigned to serve as the Commander of the Special Operations Unit as Detective Lieutenant. In 2006, Captain Whitney transferred to the Internal Affairs/Office of Professional Standards Lieutenant position until 2007, when he was promoted to the rank of Captain. Captain Whitney has served several years as both the Field Services Division Captain and the Support Services Division Captain at different times. He is currently the Commander of the Support Services Division, which encompasses the Special Operations Unit made up of Criminal Investigations, consisting of Detectives and Drug Task Force Agents, the Property and Evidence Unit, Property Quartermaster, Records Division and the department’s Custodial Services. Captain Whitney has additional duties as the department's Accreditation Manager and a Polygraph Examiner.
Captain Whitney is a 2005 Graduate of the 220th Session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy (Police Command College) in Quantico, Virginia and has earned both a Master of Arts Graduate Degree in Management and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Wayland Baptist University and an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Georgia Military College, as well as being a 1989 Honors graduate of Clovis High School. Captain Whitney is certified at the Command Level as a peace officer in New Mexico and is a certified General Police Instructor, Physical Fitness Instructor and an Emergency Vehicle Operations Driving Instructor in New Mexico. Captain Whitney also holds a license to practice as a Polygraph Examiner from the State of New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Division and is qualified and recognized as an Expert Polygraph Examiner in the State of New Mexico by the 9th Judicial District Court. Captain Whitney is currently a Full Member and past Treasurer/Secretary of the New Mexico Society of Forensic Polygraphers (2005 - 2011) and is an Associate Member of the American Polygraph Association. Captain Whitney was appointed as an advisory board member to the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Division Private Investigators Advisory Board, representing Polygraph Examiners, on March 14, 2013 by RLD Superintendent J. Dee Dennis Jr.
Captain Whitney has received several individual department commendations as well as several team/unit commendations as a member of outstanding work groups.

Captain Douglas R. Ford works under the supervision of Deputy Chief Mike Ingram and Chief of Police Steve Sanders. Captain Douglas R. Ford started his law enforcement career in 1994, serving with the Clovis Police Department since October 1997.
Cpt. Ford has worked as a Patrol Officer, Gang Unit Officer, K-9 Officer and Field Training Officer. As a Sergeant and Lieutenant he has supervised in the Field Services Division, Special Operations Unit and K-9 Unit.
Captain Ford completed his Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Clovis Community College, Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Education in Law Enforcement from Wayland Baptist University and a Master of Science of Management Graduate Degree with a Concentration in Criminal Justice from Colorado Technical University. Captain Ford attended and graduated the 47th Management College at the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration in 2011. Captain Ford is currently the Commander of the Field Services Division, which encompasses all of the Uniform Patrol Division, Traffic Unit and Major Crash Team, K-9 Unit, School Liaison, Community Relations, SRT(SWAT) Team, Dispatch/Communications and the Animal Control Division.
