The Clovis Police Department frequently accepts applications during the year for Telecommunicators (Emergency 911 Dispatchers) positions. We accept applications when we have openings or anticipate openings in the near future. Telecommunicators must be able to mulit-task, be proficient with typing and be able to input data to a computer while talking on the phone and radio. Dispatching can be stressful at times but is very rewarding for those who master the skills. Dispatchers are the life line between those who need help and those who provide emergency service. Dispatchers are the very first "first responders". Without them the call for help doesn't get answered.
On occassion the Clovis Police Department accepts applications for Animal Control Officers, Record Clerks, Secretaries and Custodian. These positions come open less frequently and are intrigal to the day to day operation of the department. Applications for any of the open positions at the Clovis Police Department can be found by going to job opportunities on the City of Clovis web site at www.cityofclovis.org.
