Officer Dale Rice became a School Resource Officer in 2001. The position of School Resource Officer was created in order to provide an avenue for a police presence and positive involvement in the Clovis Municipal School System in Clovis. Officer Rice spends his day responding to requests from school administrators, teachers and staff throughout the different schools in Clovis to help handle a multitude of different types of issues. Officer Rice also spends time in the actual classrooms putting on presentations to students, teachers and staff. Officer Rice gives advice and site inspection for school safety measures within the Clovis School System in order to make the schools a safer place to study, work and play in.
Officer Rice is certified by and a member of the National Association of School Resource Officers.
