The Clovis Police Department Traffic Division consists of three traffic officers whose primary function is enforcement of traffic laws, the investigation of traffic crashes, and active DUI enforcement. Additionally, two of the officers are trained accident reconstruction investigators. All members of the unit are trained and certified as motorcycle operators.

Sergeant Dial started his law enforcement career with the City of Clovis in September of 1993. Sgt. Dial worked in Patrol and then as Motor Officer in Traffic. Sgt. Dial was selected to the SWAT Team in 1995. Sgt. Dial promoted to Sergeant in December of 2006. Sgt. Dial is currently assigned to the Patrol Division and is the First- Line Supervisor of the Traffic Division.
