Clovis – March 30, 2013 – On Saturday, March 30, 2013, at approximately 12:19 AM, the Clovis Police Department responded to the 1300 blk of Reid of street on a report of a large disturbance/public affray. Upon the arrival of the patrol officers, it was determined three men, ages seventeen, twenty-one and twenty-three, had been victims of a stabbing.
The seventeen year old male was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center in a private vehicle with a stab wound to his torso. This victim later succumb to his injury and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The twenty-one and twenty-three year old men were also treated for stab wounds at Plains Regional Medical Center. Their wounds are non-life threatening. The names of the victims are being withheld to ensure the notification to their families have been accomplished.
The investigation is being conducted by the 9th Judicial District Major Crimes Unit, which is comprised of the Clovis Police Department, Portales Police Department, Curry County Sheriff’s Office, Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office and the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
At this time there is no clear motive for the incident and suspect(s) are being sought.
