Incident Type:  Motorcycle Crash at Ned Houk Park

On Sunday, May 4, 2014 at approximately 6:07 pm, Clovis Police responded to Ned Houk Park for a single motorcycle crash. Clifton Robinson, 60 years old, was attempting to turn around his Harley-Davidson motorcycle in an area covered in gravel when he and the motorcycle slid sideways to the ground. Robinson suffered a severe cut to his left leg as a result of hitting the ground on the motorcycle. Robinson was transported to a Lubbock, Texas hospital for treatment for his injuries. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this incident.

The Clovis Police Department would like to remind everyone May is Motorcycle awareness month. Motorcyclists should be aware of their surroundings, other traffic and not take risky chances. Motorists sometimes do not see motorcycles and riders on the roadway and should be watching for them. With the warmer weather, motorcyclists will be on the roads in greater numbers.
